Former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Singer MARK BOALS Completes Japanese Clinic Tour
September 23, 2004Former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and current RING OF FIRE singer Mark Boals recently completed his vocal clinic tour in Japan with "great success," according to a posting on his web site. "He did the clinics for three days; one each at the M.I. Japan schools of Osaka, Nagoya and Tokyo before his performance at Ohmura's show in Tokyo. He answered questions from the keen attendees and gave advice to them." View pictures from the clinic tour at this location.
In other news, Boals performed a special showcase gig with young Japanese guitarist Takayoshi Omura at Shibuya O-West in Tokyo on September 6. "Mark sang three songs: 'Nowhere To Go', 'High Works' and 'Unite' from Ohmura's debut album," reads a posting on Boals' web site. "To finish his appearance, Mark stood together on stage with [ex-RAINBOW and current YNGWIE MALMSTEEN vocalist] Doogie White who also sang two other songs."
Boals' new band, RING OF FIRE, have just released their new album, "Lapse of Reality", through Frontiers Records. All songs on the CD were written by Boals, guitarist Tony MacAlpine and drummer Virgil Donati. The album was recorded by Boals at Skunk Studio in Burbank, CA and was mixed by Robert Francesco at Studio One in Burbank.
